Fazenda Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roaster headquartered in Dedham, MA. Our team roasts ethically sourced beans in small batches daily. Founded on the philosophy of ‘community first,’ Fazenda believes in partnership throughout all aspects of what we do: building relationships with coffee farmers, developing responsible roasting practices, taking pride in the establishments we serve, and investing in our local community.

Caffé Strega is an innovative coffeehouse concept located inside Northeastern University's Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC). The fresh, authentic Italian coffee and cuisine are complimented by sleek, new-age architectural design. Guests can be social by the nitro coffee bar, or find a cozy nook in the window-side seating area. Caffé Strega invites you to delight in their freshly brewed coffee, and house made pastries.

Come meet Phillip Schein & Eric Lepine

About the Guests: Phillip Schein is a successful business owner based in Boston, MA. He is the CEO/owner of Fazenda Coffee Roasters, which he founded in 2010. A pioneer in the specialty coffee movement, he’s an expert in entrepreneurship and coffee sourcing and roasting.

Featured in The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald and other media outlets, Schein has collaborated with locally/internationally acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs consulting and building successful coffee programs for more than 20 years. He has owned cafes and start-up ventures emerging as a leader with experiences in all facets of business development.

Schein earned his degree at Tulane University and Boston University, has received multiple coffee and tea certifications, and regularly travels to countries of coffee origin. He also leads various trainings and classes throughout Boston.

Today, Schein leads his team to provide exceptional coffee, service, and education to more than 200 restaurants, cafes, hotels, and gourmet food stores in Boston/Greater Boston, as well as nationwide. In addition to running Fazenda Coffee Roasters, he dedicates time and resources to support several organizations and philanthropic causes in the local community.

Eric Lepine is the roaster and green coffee buyer at Fazenda Coffee Roasters in Dedham, MA. He has over a decade of experience in the Specialty Coffee industry roasting coffee for a variety of New England coffee companies. When he's not roasting or cupping he also finds time for soccer, CrossFit, and cocktails.

Free admission: If you would like to attend just the Xhibition Kitchen event without eating lunch in the dining room, please sign in with an ID and proceed directly to the XK. If you plan to stay for lunch and eat in the dining room, please pay the à la carte meal rate upon entrance. Thank you and enjoy the show!

The cutting edge venue at the dining halls is the Xhibition Kitchen, located at 11 Speare Place inside Stetson West Eatery. A variety of programs are hosted in this innovative kitchen which include chef demonstrations, cooking classes, book signings and interactive display cooking.
